Crystal-Clear Water Surfaces, Maximum Oxygen: Aquael SAS 500 Surface Skimmer
Banish unsightly surface oils and protein films for good. The Aquael SAS Filter 500 Surface Skimmer is a compact, high-efficiency internal surface filter designed to keep the top layer of your aquarium pristine. By continuously drawing in and trapping floating dust, bacterial oils, protein scum, and plant fragments, it vastly improves light penetration for your plants and maximizes vital gas exchange at the water's surface.
Engineered with a smart, maintenance-free automatic float system, the intake automatically adjusts its height alongside fluctuating tank water levels, ensuring uninterrupted surface skimming without the need for constant manual corrections. Ideal for open-top aquariums, heavily stocked systems, or post-trimming plant cleanup, this energy-conscious skimmer uses just 4.4W of electricity while delivering an adjustable flow rate to perfectly suit tanks from 20 up to 500 litres.
Why You’ll Love It
- Eliminates Unsightly Bio-Film: Quickly clears away stubborn bacterial dross, oils, and floating plant particles to reveal a striking, crystal-clear mirror finish.
- Improves Tank Aeration: Removing the surface layer breaks up the barrier between air and water, drastically boosting oxygenation and gas exchange for healthier livestock.
- 100% Inhabitant Safe: Features an integrated, high-density sponge pre-filter that reliably shields curious shrimp, fry, and small fish from being drawn into the motor.
- Dial-In Control: Features an adjustable flow rate mechanism up to 500 L/h, giving you total control over current strength for both nano aquariums and large displays.
- Plug-and-Play Setup: Quick suction-cup mounting lets you position, secure, and run the skimmer in seconds, making routine filter maintenance completely stress-free.
